About The Event
- “I get one every year – no exceptions.” Good for you – you’ve done your homework. Here’s the schedule.
- “I’ll probably get one, but I like to be reminded why I need it.” Influenza is a tricky little virus; it’s constantly changing. So experts, in turn, have to change the vaccine. They do this every year to make sure your shot gives you the best protection possible. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that while the flu shot isn’t perfect, it cuts the risk of getting sick by 30%-60% in the general population. If you’ve ever had the full-blown flu, you’ll agree that’s huge. So roll up your sleeve!
- “I don’t get one because…” There are a lot of reasons people giving for skipping the shot. Some are legitimate; most are not. If you tend to be a flu shot holdout, don’t miss our next e-news issue where we correct some common myths about the flu shot.
