Mindfulness is the practice of focusing our attention on the present moment — and accepting it without judgment. Being mindful is a way of training your brain to objectively observe your own thoughts and feelings. When you practice mindfulness, you take the time to relax, focus and be aware of your thoughts and feelings in that moment. Mindfulness practice has proven to reduce chronic pain, lower the risk of heart attack and stroke, relieve stress, combat depression and even promote compassion. Researchers have also found it to be a key element in how happy we are.
During this Lunch & Learn, we’ll discuss the many health benefits of mindfulness. And you’ll leave with the tools you’ll need to re-shape your life by incorporating a daily mindfulness practice into your life.
