Could you have a GI disorder?

Updated: Mar 14, 2019

Gastrointestinal (GI) problems — like chronic diarrhea or constipation, abdominal pain, cramping or bowel urgency — can make it hard to enjoy life. Flare-ups can be unpredictable and impact where you go and what you do.

There are many common GI disorders, and some share the same symptoms. To find a solution, it’s important to understand the differences between disorders.

If you’ve experienced recurring or long-term GI symptoms, make an appointment with the ParTNers Center or your primary care provider (PCP). Your provider may recommend testing or treatment options. In some cases, you may be referred to a specialist for additional testing and treatment. When properly diagnosed and managed, most GI disorders can be successfully controlled.
